THIS WEEK’S MEMORY VERSE
Blessed are those who maintain justice, who constantly do what is right.
Psalm 106:3
PRINCIPAL’S NOTICE
Tena koutou whanau ma – warm greetings to everyone
As we draw to the close of this term we can reflect on how great our God is. Despite the obvious challenges He has upheld us and even encouraged and blessed us with the reality of new buildings being constructed in front of us. We are very excited to see such rapid progress. We have seen your response to the attendance challenges that are before us and we are greatly encouraged to see improvements in this area. We were also happy to see many of you here at school yesterday afternoon and evening for parent interviews.
Staffing
I am pleased to be able to let you know that we have appointed Mrs Laura Prickett to teach our Year 3&4 children at least to the end of the year. This has helped us to ensure consistency for our young ones in this area of the school and we have already seen how well our students are responding to Laura and Tracey Robinson who has also been supporting in that classroom.
University Trip
Later in August, we are taking all of our Year 10 – 13 students to Auckland for two nights so we can engage with the university there and expose our students to opportunities in that area. This programme has been interrupted through the pandemic and we are very pleased to be able to start this up again.
Ministry
As previously discussed, we are taking our Kapa Haka ropu to Rotorua tomorrow – they will be participating in a celebration of praise, thanksgiving and worship with other Christian Kapa Haka ropu from around the motu. The event is on Saturday 1st July, starting at 10:00am. For any who would like to meet us there, the address is Equippers Church, 324 Malfroy Road, Rotorua.
Wishing you a fabulous break with your family and loved ones.
Ephesians 3:20-21(ESV)
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

TEACHERS NOTICES
Hillary Outdoors 2023 Snow Trip
Leaving early on Sunday morning, 18th June, our group set off for the middle of the North Island, to the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre.
The main focus was really on working as a team and identifying individual strengths and weaknesses as opposed to completing outdoor challenges such as abseiling and rock climbing. Whilst the National Park was the environment for the week and the ‘challenges’ were the vehicle, the learning came in each student recognising how far they could ‘push’ one another before frustration and hurt were caused. All students that went were amazing, but each was tested in their own way.
Josh, our instructor (same instructor for the past 3 years) stated at the beginning of the week how much he enjoys having KCS students because he is able to push them physically (unlike many other visiting school groups) but also because they make the most of each situation and the experiences. This was a lovely testimony to hear. Whaea Michelle was superb in dealing with any small frustrations amongst the students by debriefing with the students at the end of each day using scripture and prayer. Her positive influence is very apparent and the students are learning valuable life lessons on how to deal with conflict as well as how to love each other. This trip, as an ongoing event for our kura will be a great opportunity for developing fundamental resilience skills in preparation for leaving school and dealing with real-life situations.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
There are many school fleece tops handed in from around the school. Please ensure your school uniform is labelled so the item can be returned. It is important that your child comes to school in uniform. NO TRACKPANTS, NO SCUFFS OR WRONG TOPS.
Thank you.
