NOTICES:

ALERT LEVEL 2 – WHAT THAT MEANS FOR OUR SCHOOL?

For all of New Zealand excluding Auckland region Alert Level 2 applies since 6 am Sunday 28th February 2021 for 7 days or until further notice.

Schools are open to everyone and all children must attend. 

• At Alert Level 2 the disease is contained but there is still risk of community transmission
• It is safe for children and staff to attend school and for school as there will be appropriate measures in place, including for children and staff vulnerable to severe illness
• Schools are not classified as gatherings and a range of events and activities can go ahead
• We however will limit gatherings to on-site only and will not participate in any inter-school activities or events
• We will not host other groups on site until we return to Level 1
• Schools will close for cleaning and contact tracing if there is a confirmed case who was infectious when at school
• Face coverings are not required at school or on any school transport.  This includes charter buses hired by the school to transport students and staff.  Anyone who chooses to wear a face covering in our school will be supported to do so

Sick people must stay at home.

• We encourage you strongly to seek medical advice if you have COVID-like symptoms and get tested if advised to do so.
• If anyone displays relevant symptoms of COVID-19, tests positive for COVID 19, or has been in close contact with someone who tests positive for COVID-19, you must self-isolate.

We have a contact tracing system in place – entry on site is conditional upon recording your details. YOU MUST SIGN IN @ THE SCHOOL OFFICE:

• Drop your children off and pick them up outside the School Gates

Fundamental public health measures continue to apply:

• Physical distancing (not touching and not breathing on each other at Alert Level 2)
• Hand hygiene
• Cough and sneeze etiquette
• Regularly cleaning and disinfecting high touch surfaces.

RHEUMATIC FEVER IMOKO SCREENING IN SCHOOLS:

As we are operating at an Alert level 2 again unfortunately we are unable to operate in schools until we are at an Alert level 1.

If children are presenting with a sore throat, dental infection, skin infection or headlice etc to please contact:

1) General Practitioner (Doctor) or

2) IMOKO Telehealth Team who assist in “Empirical Treatment”on 0508 44 66 56  or

3) Rheumatic Fever team on 021 245 2960 –  and we can log the case on their behalf.

* Cough and sneeze into your elbow or into a tissue (throw into bin immediately)

* Wash Hands for 20 seconds

* Dry hands thoroughly or hand sanitize

* No sharing drinks or food

POSTPONEMENT OF WAIMATE NORTH CAMPUS SCHOOL CAMP:

                                                                       

Unfortunately due to the Alert Level 2 status we are now in, it has been decided to postpone until a later date, the Waimate North Campus School Camp that was scheduled for 3 – 5 March at Coopers Beach.

Notice has been given to the families of all the students by the Waimate North Campus Staff.

VISITORS TO OUR KAIKOHE SCHOOL CAMPUS:

All visitors who enter our School Grounds are required to sign in / out at our School Office

• We take seriously the security and welfare of our students and therefore require Parents and Visitors adhere to this requirement
• If it’s before the first school bell and you’re just dropping your children off and immediately leaving, you won’t need to sign in/out
• If you remain onsite, you will be considered as a ‘Visitor’ and therefore will need to sign in / out at the School Office
• If you arrive early to pick up your child / children and it’s before the final school bell, you will need to sign your child out, at the School Office
