PRINCIPAL’S NOTICE
Tena koutou whanau ma – warm greetings to all.
Welcome back everyone. The new year promises to be one of great focus and endeavour as we grow together in service of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We certainly started off on a positive note yesterday, firstly with the opening of our new facility “Whakatupuranga” at 5:00am, followed by a powhiri for new staff and students at 9:00am and then finally a ribbon cutting ceremony at the entrance of the new building to commemorate New Beginnings in the theme/concept of “Generations” as we purposefully enter this new season of growth in the school and community.
School Organisation
With the new building comes new opportunity and we are excited about the organisational changes we have made regarding the school set-up. The biggest change is to move towards a Middle School (Year 7 to 10) department to clearly establish three ‘colleges’ on the campus – Primary, Middle School and Secondary. This will allow us to adopt a more interactive and integrated curriculum for our students at each area, removing somewhat the more traditional class/year level structures that whanau may have been used to in their own schooling experiences. The Primary team is headed up by Trish Vesey, Middle School is headed by our Deputy Principal, David Prickett and the Secondary (Year 11 to 13) is headed by our Assistant Principal, Yvonne Vujcich.
Welcome to our new whanau – we are very mindful of the enormous trust you place in us to nurture your children in this school environment and we take seriously our role in partnering with you and your children to explore and make sense of the world that God has created, to find our place in it and to discover our identity in Jesus Christ.
Welcome to our newest staff member, Mrs Jitka Hyde. Jitka comes with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the sciences and mathematics and her addition to the staff will add another layer to the quality learning that our students will experience
The new year is often a time for a fresh start – Philippians 3:13-14 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

SENIOR TRIP
Kia ora whanau, this notice is for year 7-13. We hope everyone had a refreshing and blessed break with whanau. Welcome back to school life for 2024. We have our senior trip to Rangihoua on 8th, 9th February and we are staying at the school on Thursday night. This haerenga will be covering various subject areas, and a great opportunity for “whanaungatanga” with students and staff so it is important that we all attend. Please ask your child for the permission slip for this haerenga.
